ABOUT
Peter is Research Director at VLIZ and leads the Past, Present and Future Marine Climate Change (PPFCC) research group, with expertise in the ocean carbon cycle, air–sea CO₂ exchange, and data-driven approaches to understanding ocean carbon uptake. His research combines ocean observations with data-driven and machine-learning approaches to understand variability and change in ocean carbon uptake from regional to global scales.
As Guest Professor within the MarSens group, he contributes to the Master’s course in Oceanography and co-supervises VLIZ-MarSens joint PhD students Andrea and Maurie.
